NOTE: 1996 BC Professional Truck Driving Championships Grand Champion is Dean Grant (Dairyland). This is Dean's 5th win. Congratulations! He was crowned winner on June 2, 1996.
BFI sponsored 1996 10th Annual International Garbage Truck and Heavy Equipment Rodeo (held in Houston, TX., Oct. 26/96) produced two B.C. winners: John Desmarais (tractor-trailer operator) of Port Coquitlam and Daniel Goupil (Mascouche, Que.) were 2nd in their category. Dean Gibson (forklift operator) of New Westminster and Todd Glover (Sidney, N. S.) were 3rd in their category. 162 other BFI employees competed, including Earl Olson (driver - Abbotsford, BC - 3rd place winner in special services division of the Canadian qualifying event). 13,000 employees from around the world were eligible to take part.
