| Film Festival Membership Information |
| At the Victoria Independent Film & Video Festival you will be seeing unclassified films. In order to view unclassified films, you must be 18 years of age or older and a member of the society that is showing the films. There is a $2 fee for becoming a Film Festival Member of the Victoria Independent Film & Video Festival. This allows you, under the law, to purchase tickets to see the films. You will need to show your membership card at each screening you attend. If you cannot provide your membership card you will be required to purchase one at the time. Think of it as a FRINGE button for legal reasons. |

| Where to buy tickets: Film
& Video tickets are available at the door. Passes and Forum tickets
can be picked up at Chapters Bookstore on Douglas, at Bolen Books in the
Hillside Mall or by calling the infoline at (250)389-1590

| Opening Gala: Famous Players Capitol 6 and the Laurel Point Inn |
| Join the party, get your picture taken with a Hollywood Player. Have your face enshrined in the "Festival Portrait" or just dance till your toes ache! The opening feature begins at 7 pm at the Famous Players Capitol 6 and the party moves on to The Laurel Point Inn for the Awards Ceremony, Reception and the chance to step out to the great tones of Randy Tucker and the Kevin Leitch Quartet. Tickets on sale for $25 per person |
| The Awards |
| The Festival's films are juried and of the works accepted to the festival, some are selected are to receive an award. The categories are Best Feature Film, Viacom Canada Award for Best Canadian Feature, Best Use of Budget, Best Documentary, Best Short and Best B.C. Short. These awards will be handed out on Friday, January 29 during the Gala held at the Laurel Point Inn. For the first time the Festival is also opening up the voting to the public and people can vote for their favourite film outside all the screening sites. These awards will be given out at the End of Festival Bash. Remember to vote. |

| A swinging time starts at 9 pm for a great windup to the Festival week. Hear the results of the Audience Selection Award and then dance away the night to the Bill Hillys.Tickets on sale for $15 per person |
