The availability of electronic communication has become widespread on a global scale. Internet system, in particular, has awaken people's interest for the new style of communication today and that in the future years. The system has been widely available and utilized in Canada following the US. We have keenly felt its applicability in our society since the population is not densely distributed in Canada, particularly outside the big cities.
Half a century ago, SNI founder Dr. Masaharu Taniguchi used a buggy to carry SNI magazines to the post office; now we can easily use the latest electronic communication medium to deliver his teaching and information to the people of the world.
Our WWW "Truth of Life" was edited roughly by the effort of English speaking group of SNI Canada, Western district Union at the end of March. Thereafter, we presented the information privately to our district members for testing, and at same time we have negotiated with SNI Canada Inc. and the persons concerned regarding who would serve the best as presenter, or which organization would be the most suitable to present the information in Canada.
Unfortunately, the talks have not been successful up to this date, so we have decided to open the WWW home page to public from Canada Western District Union, starting July 1st, 1996.
The reasons we adopted English language to edit the WWW are 1) English language is one of the official languages in Canada, 2) the information on SNI written in English is very little compared to that written in Japanese for the people in Canada and in the world, 3) most of the Japanese abroad can understand English language to a certain degree and their descendants are dependent on English language, and 4) we have a plan to create a WWW home page written in Japanese at this site in the near future.
We learned from the Electronic newsletter delivered from SNI International Department Japan, that USA Missionary Headquarters has begun publishing their WWW home page recently. We have viewed the site and understand that it is one of the measures of the new plans for spreading the SNI teachings to the world. We hope the site continues to progress and more over that it maintains network relations with our WWW site in the future.
Our WWW has been made possible by the effort of the members of Burnaby and Kamloops centers and supported financially by the members despite difficult financial circumstances. We would like to express our thanks to those members supporting this page and would like to ask continuous support in the financial aspect as well as the contents of the pages.
