TRY A GROUP SESSION FOR YOUR FRIENDS

Our Jiu-Jitsu dojo, (training hall) offers a comprehensive training program that will give you a few self defense skills that will assist you in your perserverance to find ways to protect yourself as you go about your normal daily activities.

Nobody can give you the complete 100% guaranteed skill to defend yourself in the moment of attack. And if you do find someone that offers this then give yourself a shake because it ain't so. So, I won't start off with the selling talk blah, blah, blah.

Training should be continuous in order to effect an automatic reaction. The training should consist of a few powerful moves that'll stop an attacker in his tracks in order for you to get the heck out of there. Training should be geared to reasonable moves that are learned within 5 minutes. They should be built for you, a non-martial artist who is not practicing 2-3 times a week. They should be powerful enough to stop the attacker that you, a non-power person, can effect with the strength you have. Believe it or not, you do have the power within you, it just needs a little coaching to make itself known, we all have some enherant qualities inside of ourselves. The program should also consist of several sessions in order to ingrain in the mind and body these few powerful moves. Nothing good comes easy in life and so a little work and a little sweat is needed to help point you in the right direction. It is then up to you to ask yourself a few questions on where you want to go and how you want to go about living your life.

In this Women's Self Defense program I would like to show you some skills that you can learn. The hardest part is your mind. Get rid of the negative thoughts that sit inside there and peck away. Yes you can do it, anybody can - yes you will feel some aches, they will go away - yes you'll have doubt, we'll work on that - maybe you're not in shape, I'm not asking you to run a Marathon with me - maybe you are in shape and want to go a level higher, excellent, I'll do what I can - yes maybe you had an earlier attack on you, we've had it before, you're with friends, we'll work it out. We also have a lot of laughs as we go along.

You'll learn some dandy strikes that will be part of your tool kit, you'll learn to move and react in a mannor that will surprise you. The last class you get to defend yourself against a padded attacker utilizing your skills to the max. Yep, you get to knee and elbow the attacker full force.

The mind can be a terrible thing, it can cause you to freeze the second something pops up that frightens you, we'll work on that, the fright thing can be a good thing, the chemicals racing through your body can be a friend. I once trained with an amazing Kali intructor who was shorter than me, I'm 5' 6'', and who would be called in to assist when an "out-of-control" person would be brought in for treatment. He told me of one instance where an older lady had picked up one of the orderlies over her head and tossed him across the room. I have a newspaper article on my bulletin board of a female security guard who was attacked, first they ripped open her shirt, she froze, they knocked her to the ground, she froze, then she said NO, and got up and kicked the living crap out of her attacker.

So, guess what, NOBODY HAS THE RIGHT TO HURT YOU.

Learn a few things from me, learn a few things from someone else, keep on learning.

Be smart use your brains to outwit the attacker, be smart learn some self defense skills to stop the attacker, be smart live and tell the police.

Typically our classes for Women's Self Defense consist of 3 or 4 sessions, each 1 - 1& 1/2 hrs. CALL FOR NEXT CLASS START DATE.
