Andromeda Galaxy Mosaic
This is an example of a mosaic of the giant Andromeda Galaxy M31
taken with my CB245 camera using a Meade F3.3 focal reducer on
a CG11 telescope. There are about 28 overlapping tiles for this
mosaic, and each has about five separate exposures of 60 seconds.
The mosaic was assembled with the merge-down layer command in
Photoshop adding one tile at a time, either on top or below the
existing partial mosaic. Alignment used the 50% transparency
command, and the stars aligned very well from tile to tile.
Intensity matching was also needed.
