Wine making is a very fast growing hobby, especially here in Canada. It's probably due to the high taxes on alcoholic beverages, and the great immigration of peoples from "wine drinking" countries. Along with this growth is a boom of "On Premises-Brew Your Own" wine shops.

The making (and drinking) of wine is a very satisfying experience! Not only is it inexpensive to make your own wines at home, but with the new wine kits and simple equipment, the result is very fine wine ! It only costs about $1.50 per bottle ! Wine kits are available at most major grocery chains, as well as at all brew your own shops and wine making supplies stores. To get started and to take the mystery out of changing juice to the "nectar of the gods" , it is probably a good idea to make your first batch at one of the "brew your own shops".

Both men and women share the hobby of making their own wine. Pretty well every area has it's own local wine clubs where you not only get tips and information, but have the opportunity to meet some really nice people of all ages. Wine tasting socials are enjoyable and give you an idea of how your own wine "stacks-up". If you've ever noticed at your local liquor store, the time and care taken by wine purchasers to pick out that "special" bottle of wine, then you'll understand enjoying a "new" bottle of wine must be more than just "having a drink" !

When you taste just how great your finished product is, you'll want to share a bottle or two with some of your better friends and family.
