Being so close to the US market makes Surrey very attractive to Americans. Their strong US dollar is one reason, the beautiful parks is another. However, the Cloverdale Library is also a draw for people who are doing genealogical research. When it comes to looking into family heritage the Cloverdale library has excellent resources available such as probated wills, old telephone directories, CD-ROMS & a trained staff. Even people who have gone to Salt Lake City to do research have also gone to Cloverdale for this reason.

The world famous Cloverdale Rodeo is loads of fun every Victoria Day long weekend. There is also an exhibition every August. The buildings can accommodate many things such as dances, banquets, trade shows, livestock sales, horse shows, re-unions, etc. Harness racing occurs every October. There is also a flea market each Sunday. Parking is available.
