Here
are a few of my favourite links - politics,
Canada, news, Mexico, music, hockey, poetry... I'll be updating these too...
(last updated on Feb. 24, 1998)
RedFrog
- Poems from the planet Earth - an on-line archive
of poetry from around the world. The site is in Norway. Add your own favourite
poet or poem!
Proceso -
Mexico's leading investigative magazine, with exhaustive coverage
of the country's ruling elite and what's really going on behind the scenes.
Essential reading for Mexiphiles (is that a word? it is now...). Proceso
reported on Zapatista activity in Chiapas almost a year before the
fighting started. This is a new site.
La Jornada
- one of Mexico's best newspapers - detailed coverage of politics,
Chiapas, and great black and white photos!
Unilien/Unity
Link - stuff (French and English) on Canada's ongoing unity
crisis (sigh).
The Globe
and Mail - (on-line version) for all you foreigners out
there, English Canada's "paper of record," and the best English
paper in the country...
CANLinks -
Some interesting links to mainly Canadian sites... add your own
site...
The
Council for Canadian Unity -Some ofthis stuff
is a bit academic, but it's a good source of unity info, and discussions
of the issues...
The
Stan Rogers Page - information about Canada's
greatest folk singer, greatest singer and songwriter, period, sadly missed
since he died in a plane crash in 1983...
Mark
Messier Page (unofficial) - He's now with
the Canuckleheads, but can the Mess still do it? This (mostly Ranger)
fan page has stats, bio information, a photo gallery, and even a Mark Messier
joke!
Zapatistas
in Cyberspace: A guide to analysis and information-
A BIG page withloads of links and info on the Chiapas uprising
in Mexico, and solidarity groups around the world. Most of this stuff is
very sympathetic, but it also includes a couple of studies by the Rand
Corporation on the securitiy implications of happenings in Mexico.
