About the College
The International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine of Vancouver
was originally established in 1986 by Dr. Henry C. Lu in association
with his colleagues to offer a three-year professional training
in Traditional Chinese Medicine, including Acupuncture and Herbology.
The College is registered with the Private Post-Secondary Education
Commission of British Columbia, it is designated in British Columbia
as "Eligible Institution" under the Canada Student Loans
Act, it is also recognized by the Ministry of Education in the
Province of Quebec and in the Province of Ontario for student
loans under the Student Financial Aid Programs. The College is
also certified as an educational institution by the Minister of
Employment and Immigration.
Program Objective
The objective of this program is to qualify physicians, dentists,
and physiotherapists to practice acupuncture in accordance with
the requirements of their respective professions.
At present, the College of Physicians and Surgeons requires 200-hour
training to qualify a physician to practice acupuncture; the Association
of Physiotherapists requires three levels of training in order
to be able to practice acupuncture; the Association of Dentistry
has not specified its requirements for acupuncture, but it may
be in line with the other two professions.
Medical Acupuncture for Physicians, Dentists, and Physiotherapists
offers a total of 260 hours of training at three levels which
should be sufficient to meet the requirements of the above three
professional associations. The program consists of training in
the philosophy and fundamental theory of acupuncture, diagnosis,
point locations, techniques of acupuncture, acupuncture treatment
of various diseases, acupuncture classics, modern research of
acupuncture, auricular acupuncture, scalp acupuncture, hand acupuncture,
foot acupuncture, and clinical training.
Admission and Registration
1. This program is designed for physicians, dentists, and physiotherapists only.
2. An applicant should complete Application Form for Admission, with a $500.00 deposit which will be refunded in full if the program is canceled or the application is rejected.
3. An applicant should submit documentation to substantiate his or her professional status.
4. Course Fees Level One: $900.00
Level Two: $1,200.00
Level Three: $1,800.00
Total: $3,900.00
Refund Policy
1. Full refund in case of cancellation of the program by the College.
2. Detailed refund policy follows the guidelines established
by Private Post-Secondary Education Commission of British Columbia
(the guidelines are printed on page 42 of A Professional
Career in Traditional Chinese Medicine published by the College).

Class Schedule
All classes will be scheduled on Friday (6:00 pm - 10:00 pm);
Saturday (9:00 am - 1:00 pm, 2:00pm - 6:00 pm);
Sunday (9:00 am - 1:00 pm, 2:00pm - 6:00 pm).
