Artist Biography![]()
Miles Fenton began sketching at an early age and, although never having attended art school, has spent most of his working life as an Industrial Designer and Illustrator, refining his artistic skills in the commercial world. He was born in England and developed an intense interest in motor racing very early which has not faded with time. He worked for several companies involved in the racing scene in England, gaining valuable first hand experience as mechanic, driver and general assistant for V.W. Derrington, Paddy Gaston, Speedwell and Lotus at many races in the late fifties and early sixties.
Since moving to Vancouver, Canada many years ago he has been deeply involved in vehicle development and design, including automobiles, ATVs, aircraft interiors, boat hull development and manned and remote operated submarine vehicles.
During this period he restored and raced a number of vintage cars, competing up and down the West Coast. including five times at the renowned Monterey Historic Vintage Races, four times in a pre-war supercharged six cylinder MG and once in a front engined formula junior.
As part of his design skills he developed his art talent to the stage where he began painting his favorite subject, historic and vintage racing scenes. He has sold many originals and completed commissions for clients and is now releasing limited edition high quality prints of his work for sale to the enthusiast, all of which are of pre-war or early post war racing or automotive scenes of the period.
The bronze sculpture is a new venture which has been so challenging and rewarding that he plans to explore this art form further. He is keen to explore the possibilities of commissions for individual, companies and institutions.
