As a person who was born during the second world war I grew up as a
youngster in an era when we still had rationing for the basics like eggs,
butter etc. so I have read books when the occasion arises on the war in
Europe and the causes and effects that it has had. Also, Britain is alive
with history in that it has been a country that has at least 2000 years of
development. As a bit of humour I have shown the last house that I lived in
at Bournemouth. You will no longer find it looking like this as it has now
been renovated and changed into 6 flats and the whole front yard is one
concrete parking which the second picture shows. Such is history - I guess that
I am living proof of walking history !
The local picture of North Vancouver was taken around 1913 and you can still
see some of the buildings today. Needless to say, the streetcars last ran
in North Vancouver in 1947.
