Mission

The mission of our Special Education Department in partnership with students, parents, and the community, is to deliver an array of services to equip all learners with the skills for lifelong education to reach their full potential with responsibility to self and society.

Belief Statements

We believe all students can learn, have the right to learn, and share the responsibility for that learning.

We believe that people have different learning needs, and that curriculum and instruction must address these needs. 

We believe appropriate social behaviour and communication skills are essential for success in all areas of life.

We believe the quality of education of students can only result through respectful collaboration and effort among students, parents, special services staff, general education staff, and the community.

We believe parents should be an important part of the educational planning and the service team.

We believe students need the strategies and tools necessary to strive toward becoming responsible, independent learners, and productive members of society.
