Anvil Range Mining Corporation - Faro, Yukon Territories

Maintenance Planning Engineer - Responsible for scheduling preventative maintenance and planned component replacements of various mining equipment including Euclid haul trucks and Caterpillar dozers. Re-constructed and maintained maintenance records database. Established a program to evaluate performance of components from alternative suppliers. Provided technical support to the maintenance shop.


September 1996 - December 1996 - Co-op Work Placement #5

Canada Ltd., Richmond, B.C.

Basic engineering research and design of various components of the Proheat coolant heater. Duties included designing and performing various tests to determine heater performance, design and fabrication of test and product components.


May 1996 - August 1996 - Co-op Work Placement #4

P. Chan Engineering Ltd., Richmond, B.C.

Basic engineering design of heating, ventilation and dust control systems in the mining industry. Duties included equipment selection and ventilation systems layout. Assisted in testing and balancing of ventilation and process gas handling systems.


June 1995 - August 1995 - Co-op Work Placement #3

Dairyworld Foods - Sperling, Burnaby, B.C.

Project engineering - Performed cost estimation and some trades supervision, obtained quotations, and gathered design criteria. AutoCAD - Prepared plant layouts and process flow diagrams including field measurement and verification.


January 1995 - April 1995. - Co-op Work Placement #2

National Fire Lab, Ottawa, Ontario

Assisted in the Halon Fire Suppressant Alternatives project. Duties included equipment set-up and calibration. Responsible for data processing, preliminary data analysis and report preparation.


May 1994 - August 1994 - Co-op Work Placement #1

- Trolley Overhead, Burnaby, B.C.

Prepared drawings and revisions with AutoCAD r.12, co-created a Parts Catalog using a scanner and WordPerfect 6.0a, and performed some trolley line inspections.

Sampled stack emissions. Locations sampled included Highland Valley Copper in Logan Lake, B.C., and R&D Asphalt in Port Alberni, B.C. Responsible for equipment transportation and setup, and conducted stack sampling in accordance with Ministry of Environment sampling procedures.

Music Theory Instructor (self-employed).

Taught music students the rudiments of music theory.
