The ten-week Celtic Knots Correspondence Course explains the traditional method of Celtic knot design. Each lesson builds on the one before it, with weekly exercises. You send me the lessons and I return your work with feedback.
The course book Celtic Knots: Mastering the Traditional Patterns, is sent to you when you register.
It starts with the simplest Celtic knot and builds on that.
Each unit includes lessons you can send me for comment and suggestions. I reply by mail with comments tailored to what you send me, and recommend how I think you ought to best proceed to get the most out of the course, depending on your level of skill.
The course requires about 20 minutes a day, and its main object is to help you set up a workstation and get into the habit of practising until it becomes second nature to you, and to maintain regular production so that you can produce original borders and knotwork patterns to the standard quality of the Celtic illuminated manuscripts. Recommended for scribes, and any one interested in mastering the traditional patterns for application to art or craft work.
