Trio Records and Productions
Was started in 1997 by Ken Aldcroft and John Sorensen to produce and promote creative original music projects in the form of recordings, concerts and tours. Trio Records had been a registered partnership in British Columbia since 1999 but in 2003 was reformed as a sole proprietorship in Ontario. Trio Records has released one cassette and five CD's in that time and has also produced various concerts, concert series and tours throughout Canada since 1997. Trio Records has distribution in Canada (except for the cassette) through Verge Music distribution, which makes the products available in Canadian retail music stores and sells on-line. We also have U.S. Distribution through Northcountry Distribution and on-line distribution from Jazzpromo.com.

Ear Contact: George McFetridge/Ken Aldcroft Duo "January Sun" (trp-004)

...(Aldcroft) serves as a foil for McFetridge's more expressive gestures, a kind of canvas upon which the pianist can brush bright stripes of feeling. In some paradoxical way, Aldcroft's restraint seems to have freed Mcfetridge's imagination, and the resulting interplay is quite lovely.
