Joe Sorbara

Drummer, composer and improviser Joe Sorbara has been making music in Toronto since 1996 when he moved from his home in Guelph to study at York University. He can be heard regularly in his own groups, Pickle Juice and Hypothesis; in the collectives I's Open, Squash Recipe and the Bokker Buckle Band; as well as with Ken Aldcroft, Glen Hall, and Peter Van Huffel.

Joe is a long time student of master drummer Jim Blackley and has participated many times in programs at the Banff Centre for the Arts. He also co-directs the Leftover Daylight and Interface series' and runs Oval Window Records.
